Soul Shop for Leaders Training

It’s estimated that one out of every two people have personally been affected by suicide. Soul Shop trains (faith) leaders to offer support, hope and connection to those in their community. Soul Shop training provides participants with essential resources. It also offers guidance to foster hope and healing within our community.

This is a one-day workshop. It is intended to equip community leaders, lay church leaders, elders, deacons, and faith-based clinicians. It is also for educators, counselors, and nurses, among others. They are interested in learning how to make your community into a “Soul Safe Community.”

This includes the creation of resources, training leaders in suicide awareness and basic conversation skills, and then how to extend the invitation to those who have been suicidal in the past to share their stories. This workshop engages the question of how to cultivate soul-safe communities.
